The Life of a Forest: This unit focuses on forests and the variety of changes trees goes through during their existance. Our opening lesson starts out with a forest investigation and then goes into a look at biotic and abiotic factors that affect forests. We then examine competition for resources within forests such as sunlight, water, and nutrients. The unit will conclude with a lesson on forest succession and human impact on the forest.

Land and water resources are limited. Learn the steps of the water cycle. Wetlands have certain characterisitics. Humans cause two types of water pollution: point and nonpoint source pollution. Wetlands are natural water filtration systems.
This 6th grade Science curriculum explains limited resources such as land and water, the steps of the water cycle and characterisitics of wetlands. Types of point and nonpoint source pollution are identified by the students. Students make a simulated wetland and discover how it cleans up pollution.
