Food, Land, and People
The mission statement for Project Food, Land and People includes this goal: "to provide resources and promote approaches to learning which help educators and students in grades K-12 understand the interrelationships between agriculture, the environment and people." This statement clearly relates to the raionale for the development of Act 26 in Pennsylvania and demonstrates why the Department of Education has become a sponsor of this new curriculum project. The project began in Colorado in 1987 with the first task force meeting in February 1988.

Pennsylvania Song Birds
 Pennsylvania Songbirds is an excellent resource for K-12 teachers. It includes lessons, activities, materials, background information, research projects, and innovative ideas. This resource contains lessons that address the nine standards in the proposed Pennsylvania Standards on Environment and Ecology. Integrated Pest Management (IPM)
Integrated Pest Management (IPM) is the integration of various management strategies-including biological, cultural, and chemical methods- into a comprehensive program of pest control. Academic instruction on the effects, benefits, impacts, health risks, and management practices of IPM is covered in Standard 4.5 of the Proposed Academic Standards for Environment and Ecology for the State of Pennsylvania.

Wonders of Wetlands
A supplemental guide that can be used in teacher training workshops with Project WET or as a separate workshop is Wonders of Wetlands. This project uses a hand-on approach to introduce teachers and other educators to wetlands and their unique characteristics. The materials are K-12th grade, interdisciplinary, indoor and outdoor, and are conceptually designed to build on knowledge, as students become more familiar with wetlands.

Project WET
Project WET curriculum and activity guide for K-12 formal and informal educators is a collection of over 90 innovative, interdisciplinary activities that are hands-on, easy to use, and provide rigorous academic skill building. Designed with a commitment to state and national standards, the guide addresses the following content areas: water has unique physical and chemical characteristics, water is essential for all to exist, water connects all earth systems, water is a natural resource, water resources are managed, water resources exist within social contexts; and, water resources exist within cultural contexts. An educator can randomly use activities form the guide or access the charts in the appendix.
